Going that extra mile... for charity

July has been a month for blood, sweat and tears...all in the name of charity.

A bunch of willing volunteers pedalled 60 miles from Manchester to Blackpool on 14 July to raise money for Wood Street Mission, which helps under-privileged local families.

They managed to beat their sponsorship target of £1000, so a massive thanks for all the kind donations.

The intrepid team consisted of James Booth, Paul Smith, Sean Roe, Joe Hanlon, Mat Hirst, Jim Walker, Laura Betts, Rachel Benton and Matt Bateman.

On the same day, other members of the team were pounding the streets, on a blistering hot day, as they took part in the Leeds 10K organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All.

We were really proud of Simon Merrett, Richard Parkin, Dawn Ashby, Emma Gordon and Adele Storey who took part and were running in memory of our former friend and colleague, David Longfield.

They all did brilliantly to complete the course but special mention must go to Adele Storey who ran a time of 47.37 and was 68th out of 3232 female runners and 688th overall out of 7045 runners.

Oh, and bragging rights go to Simon over Richard as he beat him by three minutes finishing in 53.07.

It's down to the loyalty of our customers and team that we have been able to support many good causes.
Our dedication to serving the community goes beyond business, we are passionate about supporting people in need.
